I'm halfway through my baking project - 52 Pillsbury Grand Prize Recipes in 52 Weeks! Yay! It's starting to feel like a baking marathon. I'm actually a little more than halfway. I just completed #33 but haven't had a chance to post them yet. I thought you might like to see a recap of the first 26 recipes in this project. Click here if you'd like to see the blog posts for any of these recipes. Or simply click the Baking Project tab (above). This project is turning out to be quite a bit harder than I thought. But it's been fun to bake all of these old timey recipes. The first bake-off was in 1949, so I've been baking through the '50s, '60s and now I'm almost done with the '70s. Interesting to see how the recipes have changed over the years. One thing I've noticed is that they are getting easier to prepare as time progresses. Some of the recipes in the beginning seemed to have 2 pages of ingredients and now the ingredients list is getting shorter and shorter. Of course the current bake-off requirement is 7 ingredients or less. Quick and easy is the current trend.
